rigid extension. The extra length provides additional access not
possible with shorter model. |
The
Parabolic Dish with Laser sighting increases the range of
detection of the SDT170 considerably. The parabola shape
concentrates direct beam ultrasound waves only which makes this
sensor the most DIRECTIONAL of all the airborne sensors.
This sensor is most efficient beyond 8 metres
distance. Closer distances should be substituted with the
Extended Distance Sensor (EDS) |
The
Extended Distance Sensor combines design and function to
overcome the problem of distance. Using a tapered angle design
calculated to focus only ultrasonic frequencies, the EDS module
focuses airborne ultrasound from compressed air leaks and
electrical faults. Detection of airborne ultrasound is now
possible from up to 10 times the normal distances of ordinary
airborne sensors. A 10-PSI air leak from a 1/16” orifice was
detected with the EDS and SDT 170 at 50 yards!
The EDS focuses both direct and reflected
beams. It is very directional, however the Parabolic with Laser
Sight provides better directionality and can aim with both
visual crosshairs and laser |
