Electrical systems are subject to faults commonly
referred to as "arcing", "tracking", and "corona".
These faults can be identified either thermally,
ultrasonically, or both. Ultrasonic inspections can be
done from a safe distance using either the Parabolic
Dish with laser sight or the EDS Extended Distance
Sensor. For switchgear panels leave them closed
and scan around the outer edges with the Flexible
Sensor. Alternatively, using the Magnetic Sensor
like a stethoscope, listen through the metal skin of the
panel.
