AVM Ultranalysis™ Recording Kit and Software
As predictive maintenance professionals,
determining the condition of our production machinery means
interpreting data from various sources including vibration
analysis, balancing reports, thermography scans, and oil
analysis lab results. The latest discipline for predictive
maintenance technicians involves analyzing ultrasound signals
captured from their ultrasound inspection meter. By looking at
ultrasound files in the time and frequency domain a lot can be
learned, and confirmed, about the health of machines.
Capturing sound files from an ultrasonic
detector such as the SDT170 (or any other detector) is as simple
as connecting a good quality digital recording device to the
headphone output and following some simple guidelines for
collecting the signal. SDT has tested several brands of
recorders and recommend the Edirol R-09 or R-09HR.

Who can use AVM Ultranalysis™?
SDT designed the AVM Ultranalysis kit to work
with all SDT ultrasonic detectors including SDT101, SDT120,
SDT150, and SDT170 series.
Other manufacturer's ultrasonic detectors can
also be used in conjunction with AVM Ultranalysis. We've tested
against most major brands with comparative results. Since we
have no control over non-SDT brands we are not responsible for
results obtained with devices other than SDT. Other
manufacturer's specs can change without our knowledge and
additional cable configuration may be required to make
connection.
