The International Ultrasound Users Group
was formed in December 2003 and the
primary mandate is to further advance
the significant role of ultrasound
inspection as a predictive maintenance
and reliability technology. This can be
achieved through several means,
including this monthly newsletter
entitled “The United Nations of
Ultrasound”.
The users group is a platform for
sharing and exchanging ideas,
experiences, successes and failures
related to your ultrasonic inspection
program. If a particular strategy worked
for your organization, then sharing it
with the group can overlay that success
to other companies.

Successful Vibration/Ultrasound/CMMS
Integration
"I have been doing vibration analysis
for approximately 20 years. About 1/2
the time was with IRD hardware and
software and the last half with CSI.
About 5 years ago I started using DMSI
Maintellegence Monitor. It is an
excellent program for handling our oil
analysis, temperature, and process data.
2 1/2 years ago I decided to add the SDT
170 as another predictive maintenance
tool. The 170 is an ultrasonic
multifunction datalogger. The DMSI team
quickly built a SDT driver allowing me
to import all SDT data into
Maintellegence Monitor. Any type of data
is very easily manipulated and graphed
in Monitor. I must say, if I was a
company with a limited budget I would
definitely recommend the DMSI -
Maintellegence software in conjunction
with there 6100 series handheld
inspection computer. And for predictive
maintenance tools temperature
(Infrared), oil analysis, and the SDT
170 ultrasonic datalogger would be my
choice. These technologies if used
correctly are very effective at
monitoring the health of your equipment
and not costing thousands and thousands
of dollars."
